Welcome to Let Go Weekly

Fired Up After Getting Let Go

Hey friend,

It happened again.

That sudden Zoom call. The unexpected HR face. The cold, rehearsed script:
“Unfortunately, today will be your last day…”

If that’s you right now—or was you recently—I want to say something up front:

You’re not alone. Not in the shock. Not in the silence. And definitely not in figuring out what’s next.

This is Let Go Weekly—a newsletter for those of us navigating the strange space after a layoff. It’s not about sugarcoating anything. It’s about real talk, useful resources, and the sense that maybe, just maybe, we can help each other land on our feet (and then leap).

🌀 Why This Exists

I’ve been laid off three times.

Once in the back of a Broadway theater. Once by email while on vacation. And most recently, mid-Zoom—with the kind of numb déjà vu only repeat layoffs can bring.

But this last time, something clicked.

Not in a dramatic “reinvent yourself” kind of way. Just… a need to do something different. To make this experience feel a little less isolating. A little more useful. A little more human.

So I created Let Go Weekly. For us.

To make sure these don’t end up in your spam, please reply with “Let’s go!” or “Hi win” or whatever note you’d like so these don’t get filtered out of your inbox.

📬 What to Expect Each Week

Each issue is a little different, but you’ll regularly find things like:

📉 Layoff Roundups – Who’s letting go and why it matters
💼 Hiring from the Community – Real job leads from people actually hiring
🙋‍♀️ Community Spotlights – Folks on the job hunt, ready for a warm intro
🧰 Resources – Resume templates, mental health support, unemployment guides
✍️ Reflections & Real Talk – Notes from the field, mindset shifts, and stories that hit home
🎯 Actionable Tips – Day-one checklists, outreach scripts, weekly challenges
💸 Alternative Income Ideas – Ways to keep money coming in while job hunting
🔍 Career Glow-Ups – Quick wins for your LinkedIn, resume, and job search strategy

You won’t get all of these every week—but you’ll always get something useful, honest, and grounded.

If you’ve recently been laid off, we’d love to feature you in a future issue.
👉 Submit your info here (it takes 2 minutes)

Or if you know someone hiring, send us a job lead.
One intro could change someone’s month.

🔁 Why It Matters

Being let go is more than losing a job. It’s losing a rhythm, a routine, a version of yourself.

But it's also a weird kind of permission — to pause, reassess, and maybe take a new path.

If you’re here, thank you for joining. Whether you’re looking, hiring, or just lurking, I hope this space helps you feel a little more grounded, and a little less alone.

Until next week—
Keep going.
Keep breathing.
You’ve got this.
